A Burst Disc is a safety device that prevents over-pressurization of your air system. If you have a regulator with a Burst Disk system, the upstream, or high pressure Burst Disk prevents your tank from overpressurizing which could lead to a catastrophic failure. In the event of failure you should have your air system inspected to prevent accidental failure again. The Burst Disc is a device designed to blow if the air system has failed.
